Greek authorities claim that they will do everything they can to stay in the euro area and avoid default. The corresponding statement was made by Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos of Greece at a meeting of IMF members in Washington, reports Reuters. One of the main themes of the meeting the IMF has a deep debt crisis in Greece, which may spread to the whole of Europe, threatened with the stability of the banking sector and economic growth. However, E. Venizelos firmly ruled out the possibility of default of Greece. "Greece has been and is a member of the eurozone, and we will do our best to avoid default, which will lead to devastating consequences for the EU", - he said.
